Microsoft has announced that its own Microsoft Defender for Endpoint security solution is now available on Windows 10 ARM devices.

Windows 10 on ARM is a huge bet for Microsoft, because the company is promoting the platform not only like a solution that allows for longer life of the battery along with other important performance improvements, but additionally a far more secure working environment.

And thanks to the addition of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Windows 10 ARM becomes a platform that's ready for enterprise deployment.

"Microsoft's purchase of Windows 10 on Arm offers powerful, highly-mobile experiences, with security fundamentally. These devices are made to make the most of the built-in protections available in Windows 10 for example encryption, data protection, and next gen antivirus and AntiMalware capabilities. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint compliments these security measures with an industry leading, unified, cloud powered enterprise endpoint security platform that can help security teams prevent, detect, investigate and respond to advanced threats, while delivering secure and productive consumer security experiences," the organization explains in an announcement.

On the other hand, Windows 10 ARM is yet to obtain the traction that Microsoft hoped it would reach first.

Despite all the investments that the company has put into this project, partners are yet to embrace Windows 10 ARM en-masse, but Microsoft hopes that investments in enterprise solutions would help boost the adoption among businesses.

"Security teams will find there are no changes to the knowledge about regards to Arm based PCs. All the data, insights, and functionality in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is the same as it's usually been including things like device inventory, alerts, response actions, advanced hunting, and more, such as the onboarding experience," the organization says.

A free trial of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint can also be readily available for businesses who wish to take this solution for a spin before mass deployment within their organizations.
